Care and safety

Routes are suggestions. Your judgment goes with you.

Roamly builds a paced route you can follow. Confirming it against current conditions is part of the preparation, not an afterthought. This page is honest about where that line sits.

Roamly's routes and stops are suggestions. Hours, road and campground conditions, and closures change, so confirm anything you rely on before you go. Roamly keeps its recommendations honest, not sponsored.

This is not a disclaimer buried in fine print. It is the honest shape of what Roamly is: a planning tool, not a live travel service. The route it hands you is a starting point you can trust to be paced well. Confirming the details before you go is part of the trip planning, and Roamly says so plainly rather than glossing over it.

Always confirm these

What changes between planning and going

Roamly reasons about your trip from the information you give it and the knowledge its underlying model was trained on. That knowledge has a cutoff and is not live. Here is what to check yourself before you depend on it.

Road status and seasonal closures

High-elevation passes and backcountry roads open and close on their own schedules, sometimes mid-season. Check the relevant state DOT and national park road status pages before you rely on a route through them.

Campground reservations and availability

Popular campgrounds fill months in advance. Roamly's honest notes flag where to book ahead, but the reservation is yours to make on Recreation.gov or the state park reservation system.

Attraction and business hours

Visitor centers, overlooks, parks, and small businesses all keep their own hours, many of which change seasonally. Call ahead or check the operator's site before making a stop part of your plan.

Fuel and services in remote stretches

Roamly's honest notes flag long gaps between services. Actual station hours, availability, and propane supply vary, so know where you can fill up before you enter a gap, not after.

Honest, never sponsored

Roamly takes no referral fees, no affiliate revenue, and no paid placements from campgrounds, parks, businesses, or brands.

A detour is in your route because Roamly judged it worth the extra miles, not because anyone paid for placement. A campground or stop appears because it fits the kind of trip you described, full stop.

When a detour adds time, Roamly says why in one honest line and states how much time it adds. When a campground fills early, it says to book ahead. When a road is tight for a loaded RV, it notes it. These are editorial judgments, not promotional copy.

If a recommendation ever reads as sponsored or feels off, email care@roamly.one. We will look at it.

When Roamly is not the right tool

Roamly is built for planning, not for navigating in progress or for emergencies. If you need a live answer or immediate help, close it and use the right resource.

  • Live traffic, accidents, or road closures in progress: use a navigation app with real-time data.
  • Real-time campground availability: book directly with the operator or through Recreation.gov.
  • Emergency assistance on the road: call 911 or the relevant park or highway emergency line.
  • Storm or weather closures happening right now: call the state DOT information line.
  • Mechanical breakdowns or medical situations: locate the nearest services and call for help.

How Roamly handles your trip data is on the security page and in the privacy policy. Questions and concerns go to care@roamly.one.
