Product Designer

Design the route screen. It is the whole product, and it has to be understood in seconds: the drives, the nights, the detours worth it, and what to confirm.

A traveler opens Roamly to see their trip: how far they drive each day, where they sleep, which detour is worth it, and what still needs a phone call. They need to understand the whole week within a few seconds of the page loading, and feel more excited and less anxious when they leave than when they arrived.

That is a genuinely hard design problem: a day-by-day timeline with drive legs, overnight stops, honest notes, and a route line that draws itself, all readable and calm rather than a busy dashboard.

What you would own

  • Own the route screen, the day timeline, and the flow from describing a trip to following it.
  • Design the tweak-and-re-flow interaction so changing a day feels safe, not destructive.
  • Keep the editorial system warm: ivory, sunset orange, soft sky, hairline rules, and space instead of decoration.
  • Design for the road: comfortable type, high contrast in sunlight, and a route that reads at a glance from the passenger seat.

What we are looking for

  • Five or more years designing software people use to make a decision, not to browse.
  • A portfolio with at least one dense, state-heavy screen you are proud of and can talk through.
  • You prototype in code or close to it and do not wait for engineering to see if something works.
  • You have designed for accessibility in earnest, not as a checklist.

How hiring runs

A thirty-minute call with a founder, then a paid work session on a real problem from our backlog (three to four hours), then conversations with two people you would work alongside. Four steps, usually inside two weeks, and we tell you where you stand at every one.
